Carpentry & Construction

From a hung door to a garden office built from the ground up

I’m Jack — a carpenter and builder covering Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, Bridgwater, Cheddar and Bristol. Here’s the full run of what I do, and the bespoke work I’m best known for.

The signature work

Bespoke garden offices & cabins

This is the work I love most, and the reason a lot of people get in touch. A proper garden office or cabin, built on your own patch — insulated, wired-ready, weathertight and finished to last. Not a flat-pack shed dressed up, but a building put together length by length, planed and fitted the way it should be.

Whether you need a quiet room to work from, a studio, a gym or a snug at the bottom of the garden, we start with what you actually want and I build it to suit the space. I’ll talk you through the frame, the cladding, the roofline and the finish, so you know what you’re getting before a single board goes up.

Garden offices, bespoke cabins and fitted cupboards — the made-to-measure builds that set me apart from general handyman work.

Made to measure

Bespoke joinery around the home

Garden offices

Insulated, weathertight rooms built for working from home — planned around your garden and the light you want.

Bespoke cabins

Studios, snugs and garden retreats built to your brief, from the frame up to the final trim.

Bespoke cupboards

Fitted cupboards and storage made to measure for alcoves, boot rooms and awkward corners.

Garden sheds

Sturdy, properly built sheds that stand up to the weather and last a good deal longer than a kit.

Everyday carpentry

First fix, second fix & the rest

Alongside the bespoke work, I cover the full range of carpentry a home or a build needs — the structural work you never see once it’s done, and the finished detail you notice every day.

Roofing carpentry

Rafters, joists and roof structures cut and fixed square, ready for the weather to be kept out.

First fix carpentry

Studwork, floor joists, door linings and the framing that goes in before the plaster.

Second fix carpentry

Skirting, architrave, doors and the finished trim — the tidy detail that makes a room feel complete.

Doors

Internal and external doors hung, adjusted and finished so they sit right and close cleanly.

Fencing

Fences and gates put up straight and solid, built to hold a line for years.

Extensions & renovations

All the carpentry aspects of an extension or renovation, from first fix framing through to final finish.
